Reinventing the User Experience for a Leading Events Platform – Case Study
This case study explores the redesign of the BAFTA Events platform, a major product milestone that transformed a robust internal tool into a flexible, accessible and commercially viable solution. With the original design rooted in BAFTA’s own brand identity, the system lacked the flexibility to serve external clients without significant customisation. The redesign initiative aimed to remove this blocker by delivering a versatile frontend architecture that could adapt to different branding needs while maintaining usability, accessibility, and visual polish.
As Product Manager, I led the entire process, from assessing commercial potential and securing stakeholder buy-in, to defining the MVP, capturing edge cases, and supporting phased rollout. The redesign was not just a visual overhaul. It tackled real-world product challenges: over 30 status workflows, legacy feature integration, responsive rendering, and WCAG compliance. All without interrupting live operations. Working closely with BAFTA stakeholders, Alchemy Digital, and the development team, we delivered a future-facing platform that retains the power of the original while unlocking entirely new markets.
The result? A modern, intuitive Events platform now used across BAFTA and by external clients — delivering better experiences for members and guests, streamlining operational workflows, and enabling rapid commercial expansion.
