Transforming Finance Workflows in a Bespoke Ticketing Platform – Case Study

This case study dives into how we extended the BAFTA Events platform to support end-to-end financial workflows. Transforming it from a self-service ticketing tool into a fully fledged sales, finance, and booking platform. As demand grew to support Awards ticketing and commercial bookings, the system needed to handle more than just credit card payments. Invoicing, admin approvals, credit notes, and guest-level data capture all became essential.

As Product Manager, I led the design and delivery of new workflows that layered finance logic on top of an already live system without disrupting usability or performance. This included implementing flexible admin approval stages, introducing a dual cash/invoice payments model, and building a crediting system that balanced transparency with control. The work not only solved a longstanding operational challenge but opened the door for wider use across departments and future commercialisation.

This project demonstrates how legacy tools can evolve without being rebuilt from scratch and how thoughtful scoping, real-time collaboration, and strong stakeholder alignment can turn complexity into a competitive advantage.

Interesting in working together?

I work with organisations to streamline workflows, modernise tools, and deliver systems that save time and enable teams to focus on the work that matters. If you’re planning a project or refining a platform, get in touch. I’d be happy to talk through how I can help.
